Sony Ericsson to release new 8.1 megapixel camera phone
Wednesday 18 Jun 2008
Sony Ericsson has announced its intention to release a new flagship camera phone. Following the successful launch of the Sony Ericsson C902, there are now plans to launch the Sony Ericsson C905. The C905 is to be Cyber-shot model with a massive 8.1 megapixel camera.
Until now, Sony Ericsson’s highest specification camera phone has been the C902 with a 5 megapixel camera which was released to rival competitors such as the Samsung 480 Tocco, Samsung U900 Soul, LG Secret and Nokia N95 8GB.
The C905 is to be Sony Ericsson’s first slider-design Cyber-shot handset and is loaded with features such as face detection, auto-focus, smart contract and image stabiliser. The C905 will also have built-in GPS enabling geo-tagging of photos and normal navigation. These are features that we have seen before in mobile phones but to date we have not had much visibility of handset with a higher spec camera than 5 megapixels.
The C905 features a 61mm (2.4-inch) scratch resistant mineral glass display to view all your images on. The screen and enhanced camera make the C905 as good as a digital camera. Another feature of the Sony Ericsson C905 camera is the accelerometer to flip photos automatically.
Early reports have now been confirmed that the C905 will have a bundled 2GB Memory Stick Micro M2.
The C905 will be available in night black, ice silver and copper gold and we expect it to be available at Phone Genius in the last quarter of 2008.
