Samsung Release the Samsung Steel Exclusive to Vodafone
Thursday 03 Jul 2008
Samsung has teamed up with Vodafone to exclusively bring you the Samsung Steel. Whilst the name may sound bulky, rest assured it is anything but that. The style guru’s amongst you will drool at the first glimpse of the Steel. Samsung appear to have used the name Steel to reflect not only the toughness of the handset but to emphasise the polished metallic finish and smooth edging. The Samsung Steel follows the very successful release of the Samsung Soul and has noticeable similarities.

The Steel has an unpretentious exterior comprising a 2.2 inch display screen capable of 262k colours. Connectivity is also very fast thanks to the HSDPA 3G so you can surf the net, download files, share images and email all at incredible speeds. An extra feature is the document viewer allowing you to view documents that have been sent to you via email.

Whilst the mobile phone market are now getting used to the latest phones having a 5 megapixel camera (Sony Ericsson C902, LG Secret, Samsung F480 Tocco, Nokia 6220 Classic, Nokia N95 8GB) the Samsung Steel houses only a 3.2 megapixel camera. However, the camera does come with features to enhance your photography experience and picture quality so you would have to try hard to take a bad picture. The auto-focus and image stabiliser will remove any blurred photos and the built-in flash will ensure you can take photos whether it’s night or day. As an added bonus, Samsung have added a front-facing secondary camera so you can hold face-to-face conversation with friends, family and colleagues.

Whilst the Steel has a 30MB internal memory, it also has a MicroSD card slot that allows the memory to be expanded to a massive 8GB which will allow us to store up to 2000 tracks at any one time…………………get rid of your iPod. You can share your multimedia files with friends and family via the Bluetooth capability and transfer them to any Bluetooth enabled device.
Vice President of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, Mark Mitchison said:
“With the Samsung Steel we wanted to create a multimedia handset with a timeless appeal and premium feel. Samsung Steel’s elegant exterior and user friendly features will appeal to a broad range of mobile users making the handset the next must-have accessory.”

Chris Edwards, Head of Devices for Vodafone UK commented further to say:
"We are incredibly excited that we will be offering our customers another great value exclusive from Samsung. We think it will really appeal to those customers who want to access the internet, stay in touch with email or update their favourite social network site while on the go. Above all we are pleased to be continuing our promise to range new and exciting handsets that deliver a great customer experience,”
