Thursday 21 Aug 2008

Orange is ahead of the game with their rivals on getting their hands on the much-awaited Blackberry Bold and Samsung Omnia or to be specific
Blackberry 9000 Bold and
Samsung i900 Omnia.
Orange launched the Bold ahead of T-Mobile, 3, Vodafone and O2 in August and it’s a similar story for the Omnia with the exception of O2 who also stock the Omnia already.
Samsung has given Orange a six week exclusive to stock the 16GB version of the
Omnia while the other retailers will only have the 8GB version, if at all. The Omnia is Samsung’s first handset with Windows Mobile and is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera.
The
Blackberry Bold is available free direct from Orange on any £40 talk plans. T-Mobile customers can get their hands on the Bold from September when signing up to a Business One talk plan and will get free access to T-Mobile’s 1,000 Wi-Fi hotspots. Vodafone were unable to provide us with any price specific information but confirmed it will be available on 18 month deals in the coming weeks
The HSDPA enabled
Blackberry Bold is the first Blackberry handset to allow users to open, edit and send Microsoft Word and Excell documents.
Orange said: “Some people are calling it a genuine rival to the iPhone, so for us to be the first to launch the handset is great news.”
T-Mobile head of business marketing Oliver Chivers said: “The BlackBerry Bold offers all the features our customers expect, as well as a range of advanced functionality that enhance its business benefits.
“We are sure it will prove a popular choice with both SME and enterprise customers.”
