The Sony Ericsson W960i mobile phone arrived in the UK in January 2008. It’s launch was delayed by Sony Ericsson to not clash with the Apple iPhone launch or the Nokia N95 8GB. As you’d expect with a mobile phone that seeks to compete with the top end devices, it has an impressive resume. For starters, the W960i has got an incredible 8GB internal memory. Just think about that for a moment…..that’s enough for 8000 songs. So, it not only rivals the iPhone, but it beats the majority of iPod’s for data storage capacity.
The W960i has a 2.6 inch touch screen so music management can be done with your fingertips. As with other mobiles in the Walkman range, the PlayNow feature will allow you to download the Top 10 ringtones in 3 clicks. Furthermore the TrackID recognition will give you the artists name, song title, and album it’s from simply by you recording a few bars of the song.
The camera is 3.15 megapixels, with auto-focus, flash and a video recorder. The secondary camera / 3G element of the W960i will enable face to face communication.
The Sony Ericsson W960i comes with a stereo headset and free software for managing music photographs and videos as standard. It has Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and excellent handwriting recognition software. The mobile Internet will enable you to visit Facebook, Google or any of your other favourite online sites.
